Indonesia Plans Family Service Posts For Eid Homecoming Travelers

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Ministry of Population and Family Development announced plans to establish posts offering family consultation services for residents embarking on Eid al-Fitr homecoming journeys this year.

"God willing, our ministry will support homecoming trips by setting up posts in several locations to provide consultation and contraception-related services for families," Minister Wihaji stated in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He explained that the initiative is intended to make sure families joining the homecoming movement travel in healthy conditions, enjoy comfortable journeys, and return home safely afterward.

In the same statement, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) welcomed the program, noting that it aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's directive for optimal preparations during the homecoming season.

"The government, to the best of its ability, strives to intervene as early as possible, aiming to ensure safe, smooth, joyful, and affordable trips for all homecoming travelers," he emphasized.

AHY assured the public that his office has been working closely with the Ministry of Public Works and other relevant institutions to prepare key transport facilities and infrastructure ahead of the mobility surge, with particular attention to the readiness of vital toll roads on Java and Sumatra.

"I will continue to urge the Ministry of Public Works to ensure continuous monitoring of conditions on the Trans-Java and Trans-Sumatra toll roads, which pose tough challenges due to their extensive lengths," he elaborated.

In this regard, the minister stressed the urgency of anticipating risks stemming from weather factors.

"It is crucial that we prepare to face potential extreme weather, especially heavy rain, which could damage infrastructure and ultimately cause accidents. Our focus is on these matters now," he said.
